FIELD: gas-break or sulfur hexafluoride switches in which gas flow affording arc quenching is created due to self-generation of gas and its self- compression by piston in the course of OFF-operation. SUBSTANCE: switch has contacts one of which is movable and connected with piston placed in compression cavity, insulating packing, and at least one channel communicating on one end with space abutting the piston on non-breaking contact side; novelty is that other end of channel is brought out to insulating packing surface abutting outer surface of movable contact downstream of compression cavity on contact opening side. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
