FLEXIBLE HARROW Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

Abstract RU 2069512 C1

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, surface tillage of soil. SUBSTANCE: harrow has tubular frame 1 and chain sweep 3 connected with frame 1 through couplings 2. Ends of tubular frame 3 are provided with windows 9, vertical strips 10 and horizontal strips 11 fixed on edges of windows 9 for mounting guiding rollers 12 and supporting roller 13. Drums 16 with cables 17 and reducing worm gears 18 are mounted on shafts 14 within tubular frame 1 adjacent to windows 9 and are connected with hydraulic engines 19. Cable free ends are connected with skidding couplings 2 carrying disk cutters 20 of chain sweep 3. During advancement of harrow along field, drum drive is remotely switched on and sweep 3 is released or pulled up by cables 17. As a result, flexure is changed from h minimum to h maximum and, respectively, harrow width is changed from l maximum to l minimum. It allows optimum harrow positions to be selected according to different working conditions. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 8 dwg
