FIELD: banknotes and warranty documents. SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for manufacture of identification cards. It is intended for increased protection of documents with graphic representation. First protective symbol of document is made in the form of periodic grid of parallel lines of water marks arranged with inclination relative to edge of document. It is superimposed on second protective symbol manufactured in the form of stripes of printed graphic representation parallel to edge of document. Water marks are represented by at least two colors. Reaction of dye-stuffs of different pairs of stripes symmetric relative to center of second edge of document to electromagnetic radiation of specified invisible range of waves (for instance, infrared) specified in advance is different for at least one of dye-stuffs which provides for binary coding of mentioned stripes. EFFECT: increased protection of documents. 14 cl, 21 dwg
