FIELD: purification of drinking water. SUBSTANCE: drinking water is filtered through alternating layers of chemisorption fibers or materials on their base, the process is carried out at rate up to 20 l/h. Mentioned above fibers or materials contain carboxyl groups in H-, Na-, Ag-forms and ammonium bases in Cl- and CO₃-forms, mass ratio of said fibers being 1:3-3:1. Proposed bactericidal agent for purification of water is prepared by consequently treatment of said fiber or material on its base (it contains copolymer of acrylonitrile, methacrylate and itaconic acid at their mass ratio 92.5: 6.0: 1.5, respectively) with hydrazine hydrate and aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. Then up to 25 mass % of said copolymer is transformed into H-form, and residual 0.005-0.020 mass % of said copolymer in Na-form is treated with aqueous solution of silver nitrate, mass ratio of salt forms of sodium and silver being 1:(0.003-0.040). Other bactericidal agent for purification of water is prepared by treatment of fiber or material on its base (it contains copolymer of acrylonitrile with vinyl pyridine or aliphatic tertiary bases in Cl-form) with epoxy diane resin. Then up to 50 mass % of said copolymer is transformed into CO₃-form and residual tertiary bases in Cl-form are treated with 0.3-1.5 % aqueous solution of iodine.
