FIELD: drinking water treatment. SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to water detoxification methods involving composite adsorption- bactericidal material in gravity and pressure filters, which can be used for treating tap water and drinking water from fresh-water sources. First method consists in filtration of water through composite material containing uniformly distributed granules of iodine-containing anion-exchange resin and granulated activated carbon with silver-containing sorbent between amphoteric fibers, in which external surface of granules of iodine-containing anion-exchange resin constitutes not more than 1% of the external surface of amphoteric fibers and equivalent content of silver exceeds that of iodine. When in contact with water, layer of low-soluble silver halide compounds forms on the surface of granules of iodine-containing anion-exchange resin. In another embodiment of invention, filtration of drinking water is carried out through composite material containing uniformly distributed granules of iodine-containing anion-exchange resin, granulated activated carbon, cation-exchange resin, anion-exchange resin with silver-containing sorbent between amphoteric fibers, in which external surface of granules of iodine-containing anionexchange resin constitutes not more than 1% of the external surface of amphoteric fibers and equivalent content of silver exceeds that of iodine. Contact with water results in the same effect as above. Methods can be realized at pressures from 0.001 to 5 atm.
