METHOD OF SMELTING HIGHLY CHROMIUM NICKEL ALLOY Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

Abstract RU 2070228 C1

FIELD: production of alloys. SUBSTANCE: non-refined electrolytic chromium, nickel, and other metal blend are melted together with slag-forming compositions and deoxidizing agents wherein the latter is nickel- magnesium alloy and, as a slag-forming component, flux ANF 1-3-0 is used, while ratio of flux to magnesium in its alloy with nickel is 2-10, and concentration of magnesium in flux-deoxidizing mixture equals 0.2-0.6% based on non-refined electrolytic chromium weight. EFFECT: chromium-nickel alloy with high chromium content produced. 3 tbl
