FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: manufacture of crucible lining for vacuum induction furnace for smelting heat-resistant alloys. The lining mass for stuffing the crucible contains a mixture of powders of fused magnesite and white electrocorundum, and the grain composition of fused magnesite powder contains in wt.%: fraction 2-1 mm - 5-8; fraction 1-0.088 mm - 18-22, and fraction smaller than 0.088 mm - 18-22; and the grain composition of white electrocorundum powder contains in wt.%: a fraction of 3-1 mm - 38-42; fraction 1-0.1 mm - 1-4; fraction 0.06-0.1 mm - 8-12. Sintering of the main layer of the lining is carried out in the process of roasting without removing the template. The furnace is turned on, after which the temperature of the lining is increased by 140-170°C every hour, and upon reaching a lining temperature of not more than 1200°C, it is maintained for two hours, then the charge is added and the furnace is turned on to melt and heat the metal to a temperature of 1600-1650°C, then hold the melt for 20-30 minutes, then release the metal.
EFFECT: improved resistance of the crucible lining to cyclic effects of the metal melt, reduced contamination of the melt by the lining components, and also improved durability and reliability of the crucible.
