FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: system has emergency heat exchanger one of whose parts is located inside containment and built up of thermosiphons with central uplift section for gas phase and peripheral section for liquid phase of reactor coolant. Thermosiphon shell is surrounded by additional shell; cooled secondary coolant pipings placed between shells are hydraulically coupled with heat exchanger part located outside containment. Casing of this part of heat exchanger accommodates heated secondary coolant pipings mounted in a spaced relation to case and hydraulically coupled with additional shell interior. In addition, entry of emergency heat exchanger communicates with steam section and its outlet is connected to liquid section of reactor coolant. EFFECT: improved safety of reactor in emergency situations. 2 dwg
