FILTER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning of gases and liquids of dispersed inclusions by means of filter elements made from sintered porous materials. SUBSTANCE: filter has housing with inlet and outlet branch pipes, filter element in form of porous bellows made from sintered material and provided with transverse corrugations; filter element is arranged in housing at circular clearance. Housing has longitudinal slot which connects the chamber formed by circular clearance with inlet branch pipe mounted tangentially. Housing is provided with additional chamber for accumulation of separated particles which is also connected with circular chamber. Corrugations of bellows are made at taper angle ranging from 6 to 10 deg; housing is made in form of volute. Inner corrugations of bellows form diffuser connected with outlet branch pipe of filter. During operation of filter, medium is first cleaned from large particles in circular clearance due to separation and then it is filtered along corrugations through porous bellows and is discharged through outlet branch pipe along axis of bellows.
