FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: scythe has blade 1 pivotally attached to pole 2. Shank 4 of scythe and pole casing 6 are provided with pair of openings extending perpendicular to plane of rotation about scythe and pole attachment pivot joint and member 7 for retaining scythe in different positions. Retaining member 7 has stop engageable with receptacle made in casing 6. Forked shackles 19 are positioned in shank 4 to receive pivot joint pin so that pivot joint may be readily detached from pole 2. Scythe pole end has open tubular sharpener receiving portion, which is provided with convex resilient plates axially fixed within tubular portion and adapted to retain sharpener in it. Resilient plates are engageable with sharpener handle bores. Convex portions of resilient plates are made symmetrical. It allows sharpener to be repositioned by turning it through 180 deg along tubular portion. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 9 dwg
