FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: product: cis-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol- 1-yl-methyl)-2-(halogenphenyl)-3-(halogenphenyl)oxirane. Reagent 1: 2-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-(halogenphenyl)- 1-(halogenphenyl)propane. Reagent 2: permaleinic acid. Reaction conditions: reducing agent is sodium hydrosulfite, sodium dithionite or sodium thiosulfonate, or hydrogen in the presence of Raney nickel, the reducing agent is used in amount that exceeds the amount required for breaking possibly available permaleic, acid and at least 10 mole % excess reducing agent with respect to said propane compound. Permaleic acid-containing epoxidation reaction product is purified from permaleic acid and is then subjected to reducing treatment. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process.
