METHOD FOR FORMING FILATOV STEM FOR REMOVING COMPLEX FLAT DEFECTS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves after cutting out adipocutaneous strip which width is equal to that of the defect, one of the cuts forming the strip is elongated by a value equal to the length of the defect to be removed. The second cut is made in parallel to the additional one that has the same length and is at the distance equal to the main adipocutaneous strip width. The ends of these cuts are connected with each other by means of angle-shaped cut. The obtained adipocutaneous strip is separated from the underlying tissues leaving the latter on single feeding limb and drawn so that an angle of 160-170 deg is made and sewn with its wound surfaces with the main adipocutaneous strip. The rest of the main adipocutaneous strip portion left free is rolled to make tube producing hollow stem-like flap with three feeding limbs one of which is round and two are flat. The flat portion of the stem forms the defect to be removed immediately after being cut off from the maternal surface resulting in reducing the number of operation stages.
