FIELD: equipment used in production of printed products. SUBSTANCE: apparatus is adapted for longitudinal stitching of printed products, which are fed along longitudinal edge. Apparatus has rotating stitching unit with carriage equipped with stitching head for inserting wire clips into products. Stitching head has guide running in substantially radial direction with respect to carriage axis of rotation. Clip ramming device is mounted in guide. Apparatus is further equipped with wire clip bending device. Stitching head guide is mounted on carriage for rotation around rocking axis extending in parallel with carriage axis of rotation. Prior to or in the process of inserting of stitching head into stitching zone, its guide may be moved by means of control device to position allowing direction of displacement of clip ramming device to be substantially oriented at right angle to printed products feeding direction and maintained in this position. During wire clip bending process, bending mechanism of clip bending device is cooperating with stitching head movable along linear path.
