FIELD: printing arts. SUBSTANCE: gatherer-stitcher consists of printed matter quires gathered in saddle-shaped sheet feeds parallel to one another and rotating perpendicularly to their longitudinal axis, and stitched by means of a rotary stitcher. Arranged guides for staples are installed on a holder for turning so that they enter the stitching zone relative to the radius of their installation in the feed position and come out of this zone in the withdrawal position; in this zone the sheet feeds and the guides are absolutely coaxially oriented relative to one another. Stitching is accomplished due to the fact that the mechanical trajectory of the guides and the mechanical trajectory of the sheet feeds intersect, the guides get squeezed out back inside overcoming the action of the return force. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 13 cl, 7 dwg
