FIELD: railway transport; brake systems. SUBSTANCE: composite brake shoe has wire gauze framework 1 and friction member with layer 2 of asbestos rubber material vulcanized to framework 1 and containing barite concentrate and technical-grade carbon. Friction member has additional layer 3 made of asbestos rubber containing synthetic corundum and graphite vulcanized to layer 2. Thickness of layer 3 exceeds that of layer 2. EFFECT: increased wear resistance of brake shoe and increased service life till complete wearout without breakage. 2 dwg
