FIELD: processing of ash of thermal power plants. SUBSTANCE: ash is treated by aqueous suspension, which contains 50-100 g/l of sulfuric or hydrogen chloride acid. The process is carried out at 50-75 C, precipitate is separated of liquid phase and suspended in water. Ferrum compound is added into said suspension (its quantity being 20-100 g/l as calculated for FeO) and allowed to stand at 70-90 C by supplying air within 5-10 h. The process is followed by filtration, washing and calcination. EFFECT: improved labour conditions. 2 cl, 1 tbl
