FIELD: manufacture of electrotechnical ceramics. SUBSTANCE: in order to synthesize titanyl phosphate and arsenate of monovalent metals selected from the group consisting of alkali metals and thallium, and R is phosphorus and/or arsenic compounds of titanium (IV), monovalent metal, phosphorus (arsenic) in aqueous medium at pH ranging from 0.4 to 4.0 and M to Ti molar ratio of greater than 1 at 10-90 C. Monovalent metal compound is substance selected from the group consisting of chloride, nitrate, sulfate, phosphate, arsenate thereof. The titanium (IV) compound is substance selected from the group consisting of titanyl hydrophosphate (arsenate), hydroxide, and easily hydrolizable compound. If hydrated monovalent titanyl phosphate (arsenate) of monovalent metal is obtained after separation, this monovalent metal is heat treated at 400-700 C.
