FIELD: quality control of welded joints of heavy-duty constructions in the stage of their manufacture and in service with the aid of ultrasonic inspection. SUBSTANCE: the trainer is intended for certifying the professional habits and competence of ultrasonic inspection operators in revealing the defects in the conditioning the characteristics of attention and watchfulness at a high functional level. The trainer is made in the form of a round disk rotating about the axis according to a preset program. The disk has a simulation of a circular weld is furnished with a segmental cut-out that provides access for the operator to the weld surface. On the back side the disk surface in the area of the cut-out is engageable with three ultrasonic sensors. The sensors are controlled by a this programmer provides for transmission of ultrasonic signals to one or several sensors for a definite time and provides for a turn of the disk through a definite angle, which simulates presentation of a new weld section to the operator.
