MECHANISM OF NUCLEAR REACTOR CONTROL WITH SENSOR OF STEP-BY-STEP INSPECTION OVER REGULATING UNIT POSITION Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G21C7/14

Abstract RU 2394290 C2

FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: mechanism of nuclear reactor control with sensor of step-by-step inspection over regulating unit position consists of rod with shunt connected to regulating unit. The shunt is made out of magnet and non-magnet spacers. Further the mechanism of control consists of a driving facility and of indicators of shunt position located inside a pressure tight case filled with water of the first contour, and of coils of electro-magnets of the driving facility positioned outside the pressure tight case. The pressure tight case is made as two concentric pipes connected in their upper parts. The shunt enveloping a small pipe is arranged coaxially with the pipes. The shunt position indicators are placed inside the small pipe along axis of rod travel. Only one main code combination recorded from all indicators of shunt position corresponds to each position of the rod with the regulating unit. A corresponding code combination is created at closing or breaking magnet circuits of the shunt position indicators with magnet or non-magnet spacers at each step of the driving facility or at all positions of the regulating unit. Length of magnet or non-magnet spacers of the shunt are chosen so, that intermediate code combinations formed, when the regulating unit is between i and i+1 steps of the driving facility, can be related either to i, or to i+1 steps of regulating unit position. Length of the rod shunt exceeds value of a working stroke of the rod at summary value of length of magnet and not-magnet spacers facilitating code combinations of position at a lower border of the working stroke, and also code of combinations of positions in the range between the lowermost position to a lower border of the working stroke. When the rod comes to the lowermost position or the uppermost position, the shunt is in the zone of operation of indicators of position of the shunt of the sensor of step-by-step position. Code combinations formed in these positions form a signal to stop the driving unit of the control mechanism.

EFFECT: facilitating operation of mechanism of nuclear reactor control, when rod with regulating unit is at lower border of working stroke in idle mode, within range from lowermost position to lower border of working stroke in travel mode, and in lowermost position upon emergency discharge.
