FIELD: production of catalysts; may be used in processes of cleaning of hydrocarbon fractions from acetylene and/or diene hydrocarbons and position isomerization of olefins. SUBSTANCE: catalyst contains the following components, mas.%: palladium, 0.05-2.0; sulfur, 0.01-2.0; alkali metal, 0.01-3.0; oxide carrier, the balance. The catalyst is prepared by impregnation of oxide carrier with aqueous solution containing palladium salt and sulfur-containing salt of alkali metal. Impregnation is carried out at 15-20 C for 0.5-2 h. Impregnated carrier is dried and activated in hydrogen current. EFFECT: produced catalyst features high activity and selectivity in the process of hydrogenation of acetylene and/or diene hydrocarbons and position isomerization of olefins. 2 cl, 2 tbl
