APPARATUS FOR COLPOSCOPY Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medical engineering, gynecology, visual microscopic examination of uretine neck. SUBSTANCE: in order to improve quality of diagnostics, body tissue is subjected to colposcopy in controllable vacuum. For this purpose, apparatus additionally comprises circular casing, periphery of which is encircled by suction cavity. Apparatus further comprises assembly for sealing joint between transparent cup and circular casing, and vacuum controlling assembly connected through vacuum ducts to suction cavity and to cavity formed by transparent cup interior and circular opening of casing. Examination of patient in controllable vacuum gives clear-cut image of pathologic changes in tissue, namely: dilatated walls of blood vessels, changes in vessel diameters, exudation of constituent components of blood through vessel walls, vessel fractures other than healthy ones.
