FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: artificial crystalline lens comprises optical part and support part made of methacrylate-based polymeric material. This polymeric material is prepared by curing organic composition consisting of mixture of following components: oligourethane methacrylate having following structure: wherein M =
and m = 60-150; methylcarbitol methacrylic ether
; methacrylic acid
, and - 2,2-dimethoxy-2- phenylacetophenone
, said components being taken in following ratio, % by weight: 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone 0.1-0.8; methacrylic acid 2-10; methylcarbitol methacrylic ether 20-40; oligourethane methacrylate - balance. Proposed method for manufacturing eye's artificial lens comprises following steps: irradiation with ultraviolet light liquid photocurable material poured into casting mould consisting of two halves and made of optically transparent material. Method comprises following inventively novel features: both halves of mould are cylindrically shaped and have optically polished end-face surfaces, whereas their inner surfaces have in central portion recesses which form optical part of eye's lens, when both mould halves are joined together. Pattern comprising areas both transparent and opaque for ultraviolet light is applied onto inner surface of one mould half. Negative image of pattern corresponds to planar image of optical part of eye's lens and its support elements. Inner surface of other mould half carries identical pattern whose negative image corresponds to image of only optical part of eye's lens. Casting mould is irradiated in two steps: first light is focused at mould center and, further on, at uniform progress rate not exceeding composition curing rate, radius of illuminated surface area is gradually increased up to value equal to radius of optical part of eye's lens. Next mould's entire surface is irradiated using light source capable to provide uniform illumination of entire surface of mould. Method further comprises development step aimed at removing non-solidified liquid material from inner surface of mould, on which lens is formed, by dissolving this material in suitable solvent, followed by annealing step aimed at additionally irradiating lens placed into bidistilled water with ultraviolet light at 40-60 C for 3-10 minutes. EFFECT: lenses thus-produced have small density, are capable to contract and to restore their original shape, are low-toxic and inert to eye's media. 2 cl, 7 dwg, 2 tbl
