ARRANGEMENT FOR DAMPING VIBRATION IN THE COURSE OF TURNING Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2074788 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cutting tool 1 fixed in toolholder 2 is rigidly connected through rod 3 with vibration damper made in the form of ferromagnetic weight 4 and located on free end of rod 3 to freely move in current carrying loop 5. Current carrying loop 5 is made of non-magnetic material, is secured on toolholder and moves together with the latter in feed direction. Annular space formed between current carrying loop 5, weight 4 and end of rod 3 projecting from weight is filled with finely divided ferromagnetic material suspended in liquid media 7, which changes its viscosity under influence of changing magnetic field. EFFECT: effective damping of vibration. 1 dwg
