FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: elfin-wood fiber roving is treated with solution containing 5-20 g/l of sodium carbonate and 1-10 g/l of sodium sulfate for 30-60 min at 85-100 C and then subjected to alkaline digestion with following composition (in g/l): sodium carbonate, 5.0-20.0; wetting agent, 0.25-0.5; sodium hydroxide, 1.0-15.0; sodium tripolyphosphate, 0.5-1.0; and water, to 1 l. Thus digested roving is washed with sodium tripolyphosphate, acidified, and once more washed. EFFECT: improved procedure. 2 tbl
