FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: wood chips are steamed at 105-120 C, treated with hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, complexing agent, and sodium silicate (at weight ratio from 1:10:1:2 to 1:10:0.4:3, respectively) while grinding wood. Finally pulp is whitened. EFFECT: improved procedure. 1 tbl
