FIELD: environmental pollution removal. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to substances thickening liquid hydrocarbons which may be used for removal of accidentally spilled petroleum derivatives and for rapidly stopping liquid products flowing out of damaged containers and pipelines. Composition contains compounds with general formulas MOR and M1(OR1)3, where M is lithium and sodium, M1 metal from III group main subgroup, and R and R1 hydrocarbon residues, and additionally includes acid-basic indicator in the form of its solution in alifatic alcohol of general formula CnH2n-1 where n = 2-4. Such a composition allows the progress of structurization process in bulk of hydrocarbon being thickened to be estimated with retaining high efficiency of thickening and satisfactory characteristics of thickened product.
