SUBSTANCE: gauge has movable member 14, differential inductance transducer 1 used to transform linear displacements of member 14 to electric signals, generator 3, two amplifiers 5, 6, two comparators 7, 8, unit 9 for recognizing displacement direction of member 14, three gates 10, 16, 23, reversible counter 11 with display unit 12, and auxiliary differential inductance transducer 4. Transducer 1 has gear disk 13 used to convert linear displacement to rotation. EFFECT: enhanced noise immunity because analog signals are converted to digital ones by amplitude modulation of carrier frequency at earlier stage than in prototype gauge. 4 dwg
