FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: telpher has electric motor 4 and load hoisting block set into operation by electric motor through reduction drive 14. Reduction drive 14 has pair of helical gears 15 and 16 one of which is arranged for axial travel along shaft when hoisting chain is exposed to load. Chain is passed over load hoisting block. When movement in direction of axis of movable helical gear is detected by measuring converter M, electric motor speed is automatically changed from higher to lower value.
