FIELD: automotive industry, aviation industry and other branches of industry; engine units. SUBSTANCE: engine has external rotor, ring-shaped working space formed by rotor-stator system with four pistons dividing the space into four variable displacement chambers with alternate fixing of relatively substituting pistons on rotor and stator by means of fixing devices mounted on rotor and stator, namely, cam drive on stator to fix piston on rotor and cam drive on rotor to fix piston on stator. Stator has holes to intake fuel air mixture and two-step exhaust of gases. Engine efficiency is increased owing to displacement of fixing devices and intake and gas exhaust holes to increase working strokes of pistons. Engine can be furnished with two spark plugs on rotor or one on stator for carburetor engines or, respectively, nozzles for diesel engines. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 cl, 1 dwg
