FIELD: electrical engineering; overload protection of off-line induction generators. SUBSTANCE: device has two capacitor banks; first bank 1 is connected to generator phase leads in parallel with load and second bank 2, in series with load. Thyristor group of three thyristors 9 is connected to phase leads in parallel with first-bank capacitors; circuit breaker 7 is inserted in series with phase leads between thyristor group and first-bank capacitors; voltage sensor 4 is connected through its inputs in parallel with second-bank capacitors and its output is coupled with gate electrodes of thyristors. Overcurrent or short circuit causes signal arrival from voltage sensor 4 at gate electrodes of thyristors 9; the latter turn one and provide for capacitor discharge in first bank through circuit breaker 7; the latter operates and disconnected load 3 thereby protecting generator and second capacitor bank from overload. EFFECT: improved reliability of overload and short-circuit protection. 1 dwg
