FIELD: manufacture of articles from powder materials. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacture of articles from powder materials includes preparation of exothermic mixtures of powders, pressing the mixture into blank, its placing in heat-insulating porous shell and die. Article is formed in the course of initiation of combustion reaction in combination with shell. Extrusion of combustion products is effected in nonuniform medium. Shell in places above and below the supporting surfaces of blank is made of material which is stronger than the combustion products, and shell embracing the blank over its periphery is made of material whose strength is equal to, or higher than the strength of combustion products.
