FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular, to device intended for production of cathodes from multicomponent materials based on refractory compounds by reaction sintering at pressure. Proposed device comprises male die, closed female die filled with loose heat insulator and consisting of base, case and precise ring arranged there between and provided with initiator and spiral heater, and cathode metal base. The latter is made up of thin-wall glass with its shape and size matching those of water-cooled cathode bottom and fitted with clearance on rigid support arranged on female die bottom and provided with heat insulator.
EFFECT: two-layer various size cathodes with preset bottom sizes and shape produced in one pass.
