FIELD: railway transport; safety systems. SUBSTANCE: transmitting and receiving elements of signalling device are made in form of current pickups coupled with contact system or wheels coupled with rails. Bursts of high frequency pulses formed by radiator installed on locomotive get onto bridge formed by oncoming train and return into unit determining time shift of transmitted and received signals. Interval between indicated signals is filled by high frequency pulses, and counter installed in circuit, counts number of pulses within time interval which defines distance from this train and oncoming train. Delay lines provided in device ensure against reception of noises and false signals. EFFECT: improved safety of rail traffic.
