FIELD: railroad transport. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has undercarriage with frame, on which apparatus and its drive are mounted. Braking apparatus is made in the form of fixed on fame barrel, filled with explosive stuff inserting cartridge case and located in front of it cylindrical body, made in the form of glass. Cavity of barrel before glass is filled with liquid. Drive of braking apparatus is made as detonating device with fuse set in it and is controlled striking mechanism, located in butt part of barrel. Bottom of glass is placed in the middle. Its cylindrical part has located on edges reduction belts and reduction cup, placed in barrel after its entering conical part. Cartridge case is set with its end in inner cavity of bottom part of glass. Emergency brake is to be set at least in beginning and end of railroad train. Emergency braking apparatus is set on separate flatcars, located on edges of train, barrel is placed in vertical plane at an angle to railroad.
