FIELD: mining industry; applicable in underground mineral mining. SUBSTANCE: method of testing of tendency of caved rocks to secondary consolidation consists in that the rock density is tested under the natural conditions in any preset point of overlying extraction fields by probing of caved rocks with supply of compressed air into tested chambers established by sealing the bottom hole part to experimental boreholes sunk into tested zones of rock mass with measurement of values of gage pressure in chambers characterizing the air tightness of enclosing rocks.
