FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method for formation of caving slot in stope roof includes sinking of hole 1 in coal seam on the contact with roof in direction from belt heading to airway up to their connection. Installed in hole 1 is stone saw 2 of immersion type which is oriented and fixed in hole. Cutting tool on raising boom 11 cuts into roof rocks to a preset depth and in this position it is pulled along hole at speed synchronized with formation of saw cut. Thus, caving slot is formed by cutting the undercut rock cantilever which is caved over this slot when face support passes it. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
