FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: technique includes location of ignition point and building of test point. Holes are drilled in mass of coal bed to depth of more than 2.0 m within boundaries of test point, holes are filled with wet snow, mouths of holes are plugged. Initial stage of self-ignition - thawing is detected by thawing of ice in holes. EFFECT: fast and simple preparation to test point to observation, measurement do not require skilled attending personnel, blast-and-spark-risky instruments and equipment. 1 dwg
