FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method for formation of caving slot in longwall face-to-gate junctions includes formation of weakened zone in development workings ahead of stope at distance allowing erection of support in junction of preset place of roof caving before the moment of development of squeezing the coal from face in junction zone, in spaces between cappings of drift support. Weakened zone is made by drilling a series of upward contiguous holes along span of working to a depth equalling thickness of shifter cantilever with distance between their centers not in excess of hole diameter.
