FIELD: medicine, cardiology. SUBSTANCE: at first and tenth days after myocardial infarction, using bidimensional echocardiology method, patient is examined to record his (her) volumetric parameters and ejected blood fraction, followed by analyzing regional contractibility for 12-48 segments. If by tenth day regional contractibility is preserved in segments that are reciprocal to myocardial infarction by more than 90 %, prognosis for hospital treatment period is regarded to be favorable. EFFECT: useful approach in treatment of patients affected with myocardial infarction.
