LEATHER ARTICLE REPAIR METHOD (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: repair of leather articles. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting pattern from material used for repair of article; applying glue to surface of article part to be repaired and connecting cut pattern with article part to be repaired by deforming pattern and stretching part to be repaired, with form of part being kept by applying pressure from inner side of part; flattening pattern. Prior to cutting out pattern from material used for repair, contour lines of future pattern are drawn on article part to be repaired. Method further involves applying adhesive transparent strips to this part; glueing strips so that transparent patch is defined, with contour corresponding to that of mentioned part. Pattern contour is transferred to this patch, patch is separated from article part and template is cut out along contour line. Template is applied with its adhesive side to pattern, which is cut out along contour, with technological allowances being taken into account. Worn portion of article is restored and aligned.
