FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to regenerating catalysts containing zeolite of pentasil type deactivated because of coking when carrying out reaction of dehydrocyclodimerization of alifatic hydrocarbons. Regeneration is carried out by way of treating catalyst at 300-550 C and pressure 0.1-2 MPa with nitrogen/oxygen mixture in which oxygen content is raised from 0.1 to 21 mol % followed by keeping catalyst in regeneration medium. From the beginning of regeneration to complete removal of coke, oxygen content in gas mixture is being changed in pulsed mode with period from 0.2 to 8 h and amplitude from 0.1 to 10 mol %.
