SUBSTANCE: machine includes spindle for mounting cylindrical grinding wheel whose working surface is arranged in parallel with axis of shaft to be ground. Width of said wheel is set according to width of contour of metering edge. Means for mounting and securing shaft to be ground are joined with working spindle of machine tool mounted in bearing assembly. Said spindle by means of kinematic connection engages with electric motor of machine tool and with apparatuses for feeding shaft to be ground to grinding zone and for withdrawing it. machine tool includes unit for cyclically changing angular rotation speed of working spindle in accordance with cyclic change of spacing between rotation axis of shaft to be ground and rotation axis of grinding wheel.
