METHOD OF MACHINING OF PARALLEL LONGITUDINAL GROOVES AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, production of parallel longitudinal grooves in the hole of the spool-type control valve of the automobile steering gear. SUBSTANCE: workpiece is chucked, workpiece hole is machined, the hole is grooves by a series of working strokes with a gradual deepening of the cutting tool; after cutting of each groove the arbor is indexed round; grooving is accomplished with the workpiece chucked at the same base and position as at hole machining. Device intended for machining of hole and grooves has a sleeve holder, which is installed for indexing (periodic turning through a definite angle) for setting the required angular position of each groove of the series; the cutting tool is installed in the device for cutting a groove in the sleeve hole in each set angular position, and a borer for making the hole coaxially with the series of grooves. The cutting tool and the borer are actuated in the same position of the sleeve in the holder. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 9 cl, 8 dwg
