FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mining of thick steeply dipping coal seams. SUBSTANCE: shield support consists of separate units. Each unit includes roofing connected through supporting props with the front part of skids, guides with stops and sliders hinged through advancing rams with the rear part of skids, made with bulky support. Guides with stops and sliders are installed on supporting props. Joint of guide with supporting prop may be detachable. Guide may be provided with two ears having coaxial holes. Supporting prop may be made with additional holes and may be located between ears during installation of guide. Guide in this case, is fixed on supporting prop by pin installed in coaxial holes of guide and additional hole of supporting prop. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
