OIL FILLER NECK LID OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; lids for oil filler necks of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: filler neck lid has body 1 with upper rib 2 and two cylindrical projections 3 and cast integral with body, with cylindrical seat 5 placed between projections. Inner projection 4 has two setting slots 7 in its lower portion symmetrically to lid axis. Lid has locking plate 11 with ends bent through angle and curved to bow. Elliptical section projection 8 is made in center of lid body 1 integral with body. Larger axis of ellipse is square to axis of setting slots 7. Projection 8 has rounded off end face and slots near end face at both sides of larger diameter of ellipse. Novelty is that inner projection 4 of body 1 has bevels 6 forming inclined guides between which setting slots 7 for locking plate are made. Locking plate 11 is provided with elliptical hole corresponding to elliptical projection 8. EFFECT: improved manufacturability and facilitated assembling of lid. 6 dwg
