FIELD: conversion. SUBSTANCE: method comprises separating the cylindrical portion of the case by way of flattening it providing simultaneous dressing of the semifinished item obtained. The bottom and bore portions of the case are separated at the final stage of the flattening. Before flattening stress concentrators may be applied to the cylindrical portion of the case. After flattening the semifinished item may be rolled. Before flattening the bottom portion of the case may be separated and the cylindrical portion may be then expanded.
