GEAR PUMP WITH SAFETY VALVE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: industrial pump plants and hydraulic systems of machines provided with gear pumps whose safety valves are used as protective members of hydraulic lines against overloads. SUBSTANCE: safety valve is made in form of shut-off member provided with spring and nut with hole where axle of driven gear is mounted in stepped threaded bore. Safety valve is provided with guide bush. Shut-off member is made in form of ball pressed to end of stage of lesser diameter by means of spring; stage of lesser diameter is brought in communication with high-pressure chamber through passages made in support and in rear cover. Bearing nut, spring and guide bush are located in stage of lager diameter which is brought in communication with low-pressure chamber through passages made in support and in front of cover.
