FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has durable cylindric casing with radially distributed push members of screw type, receiving plates thrusting against tensometer spring. Model manufactured from flat optically active material is placed between transparent bottom and cover of the device and is compressed by means of clamping and receiving plates. One Polaroid is positioned on the bottom and protected from being rubbed with special kind of transparent safety plate. The second Polaroid is analyzer. It is freely set on device cover. Dynamometric tensometer is fixed on lateral casing surface by means of clamp. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in studying stress distribution in models of arbitrary form having cracks, inclusions, holes under various loading conditions. 2 cl, 2 dwg
