FIELD: aluminium electrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: heat-resistant coating consists of powder of refractory metal on coal-tar pitch and applied to cathode lining of aluminium electrolyzer. Applied mechanically to preliminarily prepared surface is a layer of heated paste (consisting, for instance, of 77 mas.% of refractory material powder and 23 mas.% of coal-tar pitch). To increase porosity of carbon material prior to impregnation with carbon binder, it may be calcinated in the air at 1000 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl
