FIELD: engine engineering, in particular, injection equipment. SUBSTANCE: diesel engine has piston 1 with combustion chamber 2, cylinder 3, inlet and valves 5 and 6, pump 7, injector 9 with atomizer 10, whose body accommodates nose 20 and two groups of atomizing ports 16 and 17 with inlet edges 18 and 19 in subneedle space 15 and on locking surface 14, respectively. One of ports 16 is directed to zone 21 which is restricted by part of surface 22 of combustion chamber 2 and by planes 23 and 24 passing through nose 20 in parallel with circumference 25 passed in any plane perpendicular to the head of exhaust valve 5 with radius R, Rexch+ b/2, where Rexch-radius of the exhaust valve, and b-intervalve connecting piece. When pump 7 feeds fuel at the end of the compression stroke, initial consumption is provided mainly by atomizing port 16; fuel is fed to zone 21, characterized by higher temperatures, in the other zones of the combustion chamber, therefore the ignition process gets prolonged. Possible partial shift of inlet edges 18 of port 16 oriented to zone 21, to the locking surface of atomizer 10 makes it possible to decrease subneedle space 15. Possible combination arrangement of ports 16 and 17 in the same plane of axial section with a common outlet and mutually intersecting inlet edges 18 and 19 provides for an additional correction of fuel jets in zone 21, depending on position of piston 1.
